Bidentical HRT: Suzanne Somers

Bidentical HRT was introduced to the mainstream public by Suzanne Somers in her book, The Sexy Years: Discover the Hormone Connection. Suzanne Sommers later wrote a second book, Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones. She talks about how bidentical hormone replacement therapy was the only way she could get relief from menopause symptoms that were ruining her life.

Suzanne Sommers has said that she plans to keep taking bidentical HRT for the rest of her life. In the introduction to Ageless, Sommers says,

“The second half of your life can be better than your first half. A better life, a healthier life, a life of youthful energy comes from embracing antiaging medicine, and bioidentical hormone replacement is a big component. . . . The second half of life can be wonderful. I know it because I am living it.”

Hormones can detox the body, make menopause more enjoyable, help with perimenopause, and relieve symptoms after hysterectomy. Bidentical HRT is all about reversing the aging process and building natural defenses against diseases.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy: Help for Menopause

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is an important strategy for women in perimenopause and menopause. This treatment approach helps us cope with the unpleasant physical and emotional symptoms of a challenging time in our lives.

Bioidentical HRT includes natural estrogen and natural progesterone. They are identical to the substances your body makes. These treatments can be delivered through a pill or through transdermal cream that you rub on your skin. Natural HRT treatments are derived from soybeans or wild yam and other natural plant sources.

Many women have been frightened by recent studies have shown that HRT can cause cancer. Keep in mind that those studies were all done using synthetic hormones. Synthetics are unnatural substances with a different molecular composition than the estrogen and progesterone your body makes.

No studies have been done on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and whether it can cause cancer.
